Day One

If you have ever wondered what it would be like to have one of every color, then please follow along. I will warn you, this isn't for the faint of heart. It all started in North Carolina, right after graduating college. You do what everyone else has done before you. You try and get a job, you get a place of your own  because people tell you its good to put down roots. And next you either get married, have babies or buy puppies! In our case, we began our adventure with the cutest seven pounds of chocolate fur. If ever there was a "model" (and I say model very lightly, cute as can be, but only listens to himself) puppy, that was my Chevy. And as I write this, I'm chasing him around the house to remove a plastic squeaker he has just ripped with his jaws of life from the newest chew toy. Now, its trash- oh well, 10 dollars down the drain. After Chevy, we decided to purchase another one before relocating to Southern Louisiana. Sometimes I think we should get our heads examined. And that is how we got Cheyenne, our Black Labrador Retriever. Cheyenne has severe seperation anxiety. And before you say from who, I'll tell you. Its not my husband or myself, it's our Chevy. Somehow in his warped mind, they are meant to be together. Cheyenne literally follows Chevy around every day. You see Chevy, and there is Cheyenne. Like two peas in a pod. Will except for the fact that Chevy and Cheyenne are half brothers.  But I guess in doggie land, being related to each other doesn't matter. And bringing up the rear is Savannah. Our rescue baby. She was found running around with her litter mates in a drainage ditch. A friend discovered her, put her on faceback, and Viola here she is! I'm a sucker for labs. So now we pretty much have one of each color. So as not to confuse anyone, this isn't about me, but this story is about my dogs, and the lives they live.  So enjoy the ride, have a little wine and read on because the story MUST be told!
